I'm a cheap knitter: I don't buy patterns and I knit with whatever cheap materials I can find. While my projects are not as pretty as they could be, I enjoy my hobby and get to wear my creations. People actually wear my gifts. What else could I hope for?

No more yellow for a while
I'm done with the yellow strap and I don't have to do anything with yellow yarn until I crochet this bag together:
I will now knit the sides in dark purple and the bottom in light purple. But before I do that, let me show you what I'm doing with my pink Katia papiro:
I love it. I'm making things up as I go, but I'm aiming at a boat neck. We shall see.
It's the Spanish word for papyrus. Why they chose that name for a linen-cotton blend is not clear to me, but I like the texture a lot. It's not as slippery or shiny as mercerized cotton, but it is not rough and it doesn't squeak like your average dishcloth cotton. It must be the linen content.

I LOVE the pink! Looking forward to the progress.
I love boat necks. That is a very pretty pink.
Okay, I'm curious. What is a papiro?
